Moving to Michigan a little later in life, I never understood the thrill of winter activities in Northern Michigan, until I was offered the opportunity to attend a weekend snowmobile excursion. The trip started calmly in Petoskey, MI and ended in a race to cross the frozen lake to Mackinac Island. What had began as a “wait how do I turn this thing on”, turned into one of the most exciting, beautiful and white knuckling experiences I have ever done.
